Ujima Urban Women center houses a specialized program for Female Ex-offenders called FORGE (Female Offender Re-entry Group Effort). FORGE is a New Jersey statewide initiative designed to address the specific needs of women coming home from prison. The needs of female ex-offenders are complex and require gender-specific strategies and holistic care in addressing job readiness, rehabilitation and recovery.

Our organization makes an effort to get to know each client as a person with a unique history and a promising future. Along with practical classes and advocacy, each woman in the FORGE program is provided individual and group counseling. Accountability and transparency are keys to continual progress.
